Third-party inspections YES Stainless International

YES Stainless International welcomes third-party inspection for stainless steel pipes and tubes, coordinating with SGS, BV, or TÜV so that test reports and certificates are issued directly to you.

Third-Party Inspection & Witness Testing

SGS inspection of stainless steel precision strip verifying thickness, surface, and identification, supporting third-party quality assurance before shipment to buyers.

We welcome buyer-appointed third-party inspection for stainless steel pipes and tubes. You book the inspector (e.g., SGS, TÜV, BV, Intertek); once confirmed, we coordinate scheduling, staging, and test execution on site. The final report is issued directly to you, with full traceability to our EN 10204 3.1 MTC and your PO/ITP.

Why invite a third party?

Independent lab testing builds trust and removes doubt. You can appoint an accredited third-party laboratory to test samples from your order and confirm that our stainless steel pipes and tubes meet ASTM A312, A213, A249, A269, A270, and A554.

Common third-party inspections

  • Purpose:
    Verify the grade (e.g., 304/304L, 316/316L, duplex).
  • Method:
Handheld XRF spectral analysis at line or bundle level.
  • Typical uses:
Oil & gas, petrochemical units, hygienic and clean-service systems.
  • Scope (witnessed by SGS/BV/TÜV/Intertek):
OD, wall thickness, ovality, length, straightness, surface finish, and weld bead quality (for welded tubes).
  • Outcome:
    Size conformity and appearance acceptance for A312, A269, A270, A249, A554.
  • Techniques:
ECT (eddy current), UT (ultrasonic), RT (radiographic/X-ray), PT (penetrant).
  • Where used:
Industrial pipe and tubing (A312, A269, A249) and duplex programs.
  • Acceptance:
As defined in your PO/ITP and the applicable ASTM standard.
  • Purpose:
Prove leak-tightness and wall soundness for pressure service.
  • Witnessing:
Gauge calibration records, hold time, and acceptance confirmed on site.
  • Typical items:
Tensile, yield, hardness, flattening, flaring, flange (as applicable by spec).
  • Applies to:
    A312 / A213 / A249 / A269.
  • Records:
Raw data sheets, machine IDs, and sample identification tied to heat/lot.
  • Standards:
ASTM A262, EN ISO 3651-2, DIN 50914 (as specified).
  • Use cases:
Food, beverage, chemical processing, where weld sensitisation must be ruled out.

How it works

1. Share your ITP/PO

Send the specification list (tests to witness, sampling level, acceptance criteria, reporting format).

2. Nominate an inspector

We coordinate with SGS, TÜV, BV, Intertek, or your appointed firm to agree on the plan and site agenda.

3. Prepare samples & fixtures

We stage material by heat/lot, identify test pieces, and ready calibrated rigs and gauges.

4. Conduct witness testing

The inspector observes PMI, dimensional/visual, NDT, hydrostatic, mechanical, and IGC tasks per your plan.

5. Issue reports & release

You receive third-party certificates, EN 10204 3.1 MTC, raw data, photo/video evidence (when requested), and packing/marking lists with traceability.

Standards & Products Covered
